The USDA-ARS U.S. National Arboretum, in collaboration with Rutgers University, is seeking a research associate to conduct studies leading to the development of blight resistant boxwood cultivars. Specific studies include examination of molecular, cytological, and ploidy diversity among taxa; conducting controlled hybridizations; and setting up laboratory disease screening assays. Work will be conducted at the National Arboretum facilities in Washington, DC and Beltsville, MD.
Job Requirements
MS or Ph.D. in horticulture, plant biology, plant breeding, or related field, and experience working with woody plants.
