An In-Depth Look at the Most Important Foliar Disease of Sugar Beet

Cercospora Leaf Spot of Sugar Beet and Related Species is the first book to merge past and current research efforts with coverage of the biology and comprehensive management of the disease.

This important title is organized in three sections. The first provides an introduction to cercospora and includes the basic ecology and epidemiology of the disease. It outlines the basic history and describes the growth of cercospora which is now the most important foliar disease of sugar beet. The second section describes the biology of cercospora beticola, including taxonomy, ecology, epidemiology, and toxins. Extensive information on breeding and resistance is also contained in this section. The third section is devoted to management, providing growers and extension personnel techniques to identify, understand and control this disease.
