APS Manual of Operations (MoO)

This Manual of Operations (MoO) contains procedural and structural details that govern our society. Specifically, it addresses the areas of responsibility of the officers, Council members, administrative groups, editorial groups, committees, and representatives of The American Phytopathological Society (APS).

When the specific responsibilities of a position are given in the Constitution and Bylaws of the society, as amended, these have been followed. In many instances, however, these responsibilities are not detailed in the Constitution or have been moved from the Constitution to this MoO, and current procedures, as directed by the Council, have been amended and included herein. An attempt has been made to place the responsibility with the logical officer, Council member, or committee chair.

This full manual is reviewed for accuracy and needed updates every three years or as necessitated by changes in the Constitution and Bylaws or modifications by Council. Council has sole authority to approve all modifications and updates to this Manual of Operations.
